This wonderful theme-park that was inaugurated on July, 2001 is only 50 kilometers away from the city center. Its name means “land of life” in Tehuelche language and that is what it is all about: within its 34 hectares there are animals of more than 200 species. Its special feature is that in spite of the fact that the animals are not caged, it is very safe. This amazing park is divided into four parts: Africa, Asia, autochthonous animals and the aquarium. Temaikén lays emphasis on the preservation of local species, “La Chacra” is an area where children can interact with farm animals. It also has a 360ª cinema with educational movies, interactive centers such as “Alive Patagonia” and a vet hospital. There is also a broad range of gastronomic options within the park.
