Address: Av Santa Fe y Av Sarmiento s/n – Palermo
The origin of the name dates back to the celebrations of the May Revolution, when Italy donated an important monument to Garibaldi, which is found in the center of the Square. From there on, it was called plaza Italia.
It is a strategic point, and has become the main urban transportation epicenter. Nowadays, this was the point of departure for the first electric tram in 1897.
