The ND Ateneo was originally part of the commercial circuit, known as “El Ateneo”, and was very popular for the presentation of successful creations that stayed on for long periods. Nowadays, it belongs to the city’s New Culture Bureau. Its slogan is “Listen to our work”, and has become the ND Ateneo Cultural Space. It has been gaining importance as one of the most important theaters dedicated to Argentinean music in general. All genres are given room here, jazz and rock festivals are the most usual; likewise, it organizes special festivals that invite the most eminent local artists and those from neighboring countries, especially Uruguay and Brazil.
