Address: Av. Brasil 1138 – Constitución
This renewed train station belongs to the former Gral. Roca Railway Line. The trains that head towards the southern part of the suburbs of the city of Buenos Aires depart from here and they also reach is furthest point: the city of Carmen de Patagones.
Some time ago there were trains whose destinations were La Pampa, Neuquén and Río Negro and they were very important for tourism.
Nowadays the only one left with those characteristics is the one that goes to Mar del Plata, exploited by Ferrobaires (a company).
Along Retiro station, it is regarded as one of the biggest railway stations. There are murals by Ciancio on the fourteenth platform that make reference to the history of transport by train.
The line C of the subway is connected with this train station thus allowing the users to access to their destinations in a more direct and comfortable way.
There have been works to improve, broaden and modify the station that allowed for the installation of new mechanical stairs and elevators, plus a new security system.
