The Patagonian coasts present continuous cliffs, interrupted at times by areas of great dunes.

The water temperature varies a lot along the coast. In the north the sea receives the influence of warm currents from Brazil that enter the San Matías Gulf, warming the beach waters in the area.

Further south you can feel the cold streams from the Malvinas Islands, which support the life of animal species like the penguins, elephant seals and birds belonging to the Antarctic fauna. Further into the sea there are whales and dolphins.

The landscape is desert-like, with scarce vegetation, except the lower valleys of the Negro and Chubut rivers.

The distances as in the rest of Patagonia are enormous and the populated centers are scattered.

A great number of virgin beaches, its fauna and adventure are the main characteristics of the region.
