This museum contains 8000 pieces that represent the “criollo” tradition, plus objects from the indigenous communities that inhabited the country.
Its objective is to preserve, display and research into popular art. Besides, it has added the promotion of contemporary handcrafts since 1980, that is why it has included many items in silver, wood and leather; pottery and textile items; imagery and typical musical instruments, among others.
