Escondido and Fagnano Lakes

Description

The excursion starts in the morning, leaving Ushuaia and going northeast, following National Route 3. After crossing the Andes range, bogs, small glaciers, ski resorts, cascades and dry trees (due to beavers’ action on them) can be discovered. From Rancho Grande onwards, the ascension begins until reaching Paso Garibaldi, an impressive panoramic point where both lakes, Escondido and Fagnano, can be seen. After this, the route descends and, after a brief stop at Lake Escondido, it continues up to Lake Fagnano, the biggest in Tierra del Fuego. On the way back, there is a stop for lunch.
