Description
This is a full-day excursion, quite an enticing option which involves sailing through the majestic Nahuel Huapi and several mountain range lakes until reaching Puerto Varas.
The excursion departs from Puerto Pañuelo, 25 km. away from Bariloche’s downtown. You will first sail around Nahuel Huapi and, then, the ship heads to the west through the Blest branch. You will be able to appreciate the small Centinela Island where parts of the Perito Moreno rest. A little bit ahead, Puerto Blest is located. There, there is an old and beautiful hotel with restaurant, and you can make a little amble until Cascada de los Cántaros. Afterwards, a 5km trip by bus will take you to Puerto Alegre. During this short trip you will be able to have a look at an old cypress known as ‘El Abuelo’.
Here, you will embark and sail through the Frías Lake, a place of fantasies, silence, calm and immense mountain walls. The navigation is short and arrives to Puerto Frías.
This place is the bordering limit with the Republic of Chile andwhere the National Gendarmerie post is. The trip continues by bus towards Peulla, where you can have lunch (optional). Later, you will go to Lago de todos los Santos and you will border by land the southern part of Llanquihue lake until arriving in Puerto Varas, where this excursion ends (it does not return to Bariloche, nor it includes lodging in price).
