Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world
The
city of Ushuaia is located on the shore of the Beagle Channel and
surrounded by the Martial Mounts. It is the capital of the Province
of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctic and Island of the South Atlantic.
Its superlative position allows one to enjoy mountains, sea
and forest. In September 1884, an argentine expedition arrives
with the purpose of establishing a sub-prefecture; October 12 that
same year the argentine flag is hoisted in front of Ushuaia Bay,
constituting that date as the official day of the city foundation.
All
year long you can entirely enjoy this wonderful city.
In summer there is the adventure tourism: trekking, horse riding,
mountain bike riding, fishing and the most incredible rides along
Beagle Channel, Cape Horn and Argentine Antarctica.
Tierra del Fuego National Park is another great attraction in
order to discover Escondido and Fagnano Lakes, and Martial Glacier.
Not very far from this site you can find the small village of Tolhuin,
as picturesque as Chepelmut and Yehuin Lakes.
In winter the snowy scenery changes Ushuaia's appearance completely.
Only 15 Km. away from the city you have the Mount Castor ski
center on Krund Hill.
During fall and spring the scenery is also amazing.
Ushuaia is a paradisiacal place. It's the end of the world
, and that is barely enough to say....
